For the past 8 weeks I have been writing down and tracking every daily move that was given to us during the Tone It Up Bikini Series. Below is each week laid out. I will additionally post the 7DSD week (full week – as it is only Tuesday!) once this week is over 🙂
Recently I took a road trip for a long weekend to Washington, D.C. I had the opportunity to run the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler and it quickly became one of my favorite races to date.
I had every intention of using this recipe as taco and make it completely different but when I started cutting the chicken I got inspired and wanted to use up some of the ingredients that were in the refrigerator. It was pretty quick and REALLY easy to make. When i do my next Whole 30 I plan to change the recipe a bit removing a couple ingredients and adding a few others.
I am not going to lie, as I was preparing I was a little scared it wasn’t going to come out good. My husband had the first taste as he was heading out the door for softball. He said it was absolutely delicious. Words like that don’t get thrown out of his mouth so I knew I did something okay! I made enough to have as our dinner tomorrow night as well. Recently I had the opportunity to try out some bars from a company called Natural Balanced Foods. They are a British based company making delicious and good for you snacks and bars. Their bars are different than a lot of the “cereal” or “snack” bars on the market because they contain all natural and whole ingredients. There is no added sweeteners or sugars in their bars.
Anyone that knows me knows that I carry a water bottle around wherever I go. Always a reusable (unless I am out of town) and ALWAYS filled with water. I have more bottles in my kitchen than I can count. Both my mother and husband have told me, at different points in my life, to PLEASE stop bringing new ones home. When ever I need to stock my pantry with raw nuts I head over to my local Trader Joe’s. You can find almost any variety that you want at great prices.
Not only do they have individual nuts but you can also find variety packs that have chocolate, raisins, cranberries, yogurt chips and several other sweet treats!
Right before the new year my husband and I went to a little get together at my friend Monica’s house. She had lots of different “picking” style foods for everyone to enjoy. One of my favorite things she made was pulled pork on sweet potato toast (and a couple of pom seeds on top!). My husband and I, along with everyone else there, went CRAZY for this! I knew I had to make it. Being that a few days later I was starting our January Whole 30 I had to wait until week 2 because that first weeks meals were already set. I am a HUGE planner and you will see when I post my meal plan at the end how much so. This came into play for days 8-14 for a few meals and it was just as tasty. She cooked hers in an Instapot and I used a Crockpot because I don’t have one.
This past weekend I wanted to venture out of my recent comforts of food and make a paleo pizza for my husband and I. I knew I was going to keep it dairy free, gluten free, and aside from a little corn on top it is paleo. I spent a little bit of time online researching different recipes to see what I wanted to include and not include in my dough. I already knew it wasn’t going to be a “traditional” pizza because I am trying to avoid dairy as much as possible. Continue reading ““P” is for Paleo Pizza”
One of my most favorite things to eat is nut butter and in form. Right now I have at least 12 different kinds in my pantry and I am sure that number will not go down anytime soon. I am not one to discriminate against against any brand or trying a new kind.
